This is a beautiful classic with a matte finish. I loved this novel. It did take me some time to get into it, but once I did I was a reading zombie for a few days. This little orphan girl lives with her relatives where there is a stark contrast between the way she is treated and the way that the other children are treated. She is smart enough to understand the difference which makes her situation so much worse. I got angry with the injustice when I was reading. She grows into a young woman with so much character after meeting a girl at a residential school who changes her lookout and perspective on life. She is intelligent but not beautiful, at least that’s what it says in the book but I didn’t believe it. I don’t think a woman that intelligent, kind and loving could be anything but beautiful. The ending was awesome. This book made me appreciate my husband and love him more deeply. So I would recommend this book
